(Toronto, Canada) - Xybo Systems, a Markham based technology company, in a joint announcement with OptiMicro Technologies Inc. that Barringer Research has retained the Xybo-OptiMicro group to provide interface technologies for their security products.
Barringer Research, a world renownd company for its IMS (Ion Mobility Spectrometer) and Ionscan technology, produces security devices for detection of explosives and illegal substances. Its unique technology provides an effective mean for accurate and versatile non-contact screening system. One of its products, the SENTINEL II, is designed specifically for screening people for trace amounts of explosives and drugs. It is ideal for high throughput applications such as airport security checkpoints, customs and building access control.
The Xybo-OptiMicro group has been retained to provide interfacing technologies to Barringer's products. "After the disaster (September 11th), there has been huge increase in security related demands. The Sentinel II project is just the type of products we need to make our world a safer place." Anita Kwok, a Senior Consultant at Xybo-OptiMicro Group.
